Today we took the kids down to the Malibu Toy Shop (play area for children) and they each made a photo frame. Carleigh and Brennan colored pictures of the characters, and Carleigh sweet- talked the "cast member" into as many stickers as possible, and a few balloon animals.
Later, we went to a mall on a tiny island between Lantau Island
and Hong Kong Island to buy Ethan a new pair of shoes. The exchange rates and prices are better here, and it's hard to get Ethan out shopping, so I figured we would do it when he was out and about with us on vacation. We ate at a KFC for lunch, as the kids are not that interested in trying all of the local food, and then headed back to the hotel for a dip in the pool.
A little before 6pm we headed down to the Studio Lounge for a drink, and then headed across the hall to Chef Mickey for my birthday dinner (Bill thought it would be fun to have an early celebration here..... and he was right!) The spread at dinner (and breakfast for that matter) is unreal, and we enjoyed western, Chinese, Indian and Japanese food, before we endulged in dessert heaven, including my birthday cake and a huge chocolate fountain!
This has been a great vacation, and a great way to celebrate my 39th birthday! Saturday we will take a harbor cruise, do a little more shopping, and look for a traditional southern Chinese dim sum meal, although we have learned that this is hard, as they don't serve it the way they used to (no more carts, Jay) and the really good places required reservations 7 days in advance. Sunday, we head back to Shanghai.
Love to all,
Bill, Beth, E, B, and C
