Sunday Afternoon "Football"

Today was Bill's "football" team's first practice. It was a beautiful day to be outside, and half of Shanghai was. Ethan chose to stay home, so it was only Brennan and Carleigh with me. About 20 minutes after we got there, Brennan decided to watch a few Chinese boys playing. They quickly invited him to join in and he was happy for the interaction. One of them spoke a little English. They were all very intrigued by the American boy and they were very kind to him. It was very endearing to me, and gave him a nice little ego boost!

Last night we went to the neighbors house and made dumplings. Apparently it is a very family oriented meal, so everyone joined in to make them. It was fun to learn-although I just learned how to wrap them. The next lesson will be making the filling. It was fun and very, very tasty!
Brennan has been getting along really well with the neighbors 8 year old daughter, Valerie. Needless to say, we haven't seen him much this weekend. He spent the night there on Friday night, spent the day there Saturday, went swimming with them, and spent an hour over there this morning. Right now, he is at Valerie's playing Nintendo DS. I'm hoping once the boat comes and we have some toys, they might play here every now and then. I kind of miss him sometimes!
That's it for now. Have a great week!
