Five minutes later, he returned to our room, wearing a homemade gas mask. A piece of paper, with very small eye, nose, and mouth holes. We laughed, and again told him he was in no danger, it was only powder which could be made into cement, and he had only made a small hole in the bag.
Again, five minutes later, he returned, to announce all was okay. The toxic substance had been removed from the house. He explained that he had gone out on Ethan's balcony, and dumped it on the roof below. Since he did not dump it on the ground, he was confident that Norah would not be in danger when she went out to do her chores.
Several hours later I let Norah out the back door, and stood on the porch while she took care of business. A look to the left, and I notice that the bathroom garbage can is rolling around the backyard. Hmm. "Brennan, did you dump the bag of powder out on the roof, or the whole garbage can?" Silence. Smirk...... "Sorry, mom. It must have rolled off the roof."
This morning, I found the broken stress ball that had been in the garbage. This afternoon, a granola bar wrapper, and a cereal wrapper, also in the backyard. It continues to rain.....in our household.
