Yesterday, Bill, Brennan, Carleigh and I went down to Pearl Tower. Brennan has wanted to go for quite some time and the weather was great, so off we went.
It is the third largest TV tower in the world and has a 20 room hotel, museum and revolving restaurant, along with a number of viewing decks. It's a bit on the pricey side for looking into smog, so we chose the cheapest level of viewing, which was still the equivalent of $14 American. All around the viewing "pearls" there are markers on what city is in that direction, and how far. I'm not exactly sure why, except that you then know what direction you are looking at smog in, northern smog, southern smog, eastern smog, western smog, etc. It was interesting to do, and you can see the city below for a mile or two, but the view is prettier from the outside.
After Pearl Tower, we headed down to "The Bund" to walk along the water. We ate some very good pizza at a overly-priced Italian restaurant. Watched some wedding photos being taken, watched some ships passing by, and watched young Chinese men walk along the water with their girlfriends, carrying their purse for them (chivalry is so NOT dead in China!)
Tomorrow, Carleigh and I are headed downtown to meet some friends at a indoor playground called "The Activity Box." The boys only have three days of school this week. May 1st is a holiday, I think it is the equivalent of our Labor Day. Carleigh and Brennan don't have their classes next weekend either, so we will probably head out to do something fun.
