Shanghai Children's Museum

It was a rainy day today, so the kids and I headed off to the Shanghai Children's Museum. No telling what the day would bring for us....but that is the fun of living in China. Turns out that the children's museum was small, but inexpensive, fun and clean.

All of the kids really enjoyed the "Try and sink the boats/ships" gadget. It went from a canoe to a steel freighter in difficulty, and you had to spin a wheel to get the waves and storm going strong enough to sink the ship. It was quite fun! There was also a giant globe where I displayed where we were from (my left hand) and where we are now (my right hand!)

Afterwards, we went to Malone's American Cafe, where we had a HUGE brunch and JUMBO milkshakes. We could live off of the fat from that meal for a few days! Instead of going home and taking a bike ride to wear off some of the calories, we went to the DVD store to stock up on some good ol' American entertainment.

Hope everyone had fun at their Cinco De Mayo parties! Sorry, we couldn't have been there to celebrate with you. Maybe you were dreaming about us, trying to sink ships on stormy seas........or maybe you just drank too much, and the bed was spinning!
