Brennan Turns NINE!

Last Saturday, Brennan, mom and dad went out to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant where they make lasagna,  to Brennan's disappointment,  like the rest of Shanghai ...........without noodles.  We had a tasty, and quiet dinner, but Brennan is continuing is quest to find lasagna with noodles, outside of the home in Shanghai!

We then went to the Shanghai Concert Hall to see the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. The guest conductor, from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, was last here for the first concert after the hall made it's 100 meter move to it's current location, in 2004.  To give you a few fun facts about the group, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra has a history of over 300 years and recorded the music for "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."  Also performing, was a very young and accomplished violinist, who was phenomenal, never once looked at sheet music, and whose fingers moved faster than I have ever seen!

On Sunday, Brennan chose Vietnamese food for lunch, which was very good, and had his friend, Jason, spend the night. Drawing the three day birthday weekend to a close, on Monday, Brennan, Jason, Carleigh and I went to an arcade called "Tom's World", which  surprisingly familiar, has a mouse as it's mascot. After they had gotten their fill of games and rides, we headed over to McDonald's, and finally Dairy Queen.

All in all, not a bad  birthday weekend!
